CLASSES RESUME AT SYDNEY CAMPUS

We have resumed face-to-face classes at our Sydney campus for our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students of the 2017 Intake and our Bachelor of Data Science (BDS) students of the 2019 and 2018 Intakes who are living in Sydney and pursuing our undergraduate programs.

  • A negative COVID-19 test result is required by students and staff, including local residents and citizens, who have registered to attend campus.
  • Test results must be received and sent through to facilities sydney@spjain.edu.au two days prior to your campus attendance date.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19, you must stay home and isolate.
  • BUPA Health Insurance covers the cost of the COVID-19 test for SP Jain students.

The COVID-19 declaration form is to be completed online by all students and visitors prior to arrival on campus. This is to be filled out after any COVID-19 test and submitted no later than 48 hours before arrival.

 

 

ON-CAMPUS GUIDELINES

  • If you are feeling unwell, do not attend campus.
  • Cafeteria entrance only – for registered Bachelor of Business Administration (2017 cohort) and Bachelor of Data Science students (face-to-face).
  • Online students in Sydney are not permitted on campus.
  • No third-party external visitors are permitted without 48 hours notification and approval.
  • The campus is open for limited hours only.
  • Students must adhere to SP Jain’s guidelines on “no go zones”.

    Ground floor “no go zones”:
    • LC 1, LC 2, LC 3, LC 4, LC 6, LC 7 & LC 9
    • All Breakout rooms
    • Gym
    • Leadership Hall
    • Atrium – no usage of table tennis, pool tables
    • Music Room
    • Counsellor Room (Counselling support online only)
    • Neuroscience Lab (unless with permission)
    Mezzanine & 1st floor “no go zones ”:
    • All mezzanine areas, classrooms and 1st floor area are closed to students

  • Daily temperature checks are mandatory before entering the campus.
  • If the temperature reading is above 37.5 degrees Celsius, you will not be allowed to enter and will be referred to a medical centre.
  • Wearing a face mask at all times is mandatory. It may be removed only while eating or drinking.
  • Face masks are available on the campus.

  • Cleaning will take place after each teaching day.
  • Hand-sanitiser gel has been placed outside classrooms and all common student accessible areas. Students must sanitise and adhere to SP Jain’s guidelines on hygiene.
  • Sanitiser wipes will be provided to faculty to wipe down the equipment after classes.
  • Frequent hand-washing is strongly encouraged.

  • Social distancing and hygiene measures have been displayed on the digital wall, digital notice boards, signage boards and posters in different areas in the campus as reminders.
  • Restrictions apply to the number of persons who can use common areas/recreational facilities at the same time:
    • SEM Office: A maximum of 1 student
    • UG Program Office: A maximum of 2 students
    • Reuters Fin Lab: Distancing limit of 2 persons
    • Café area: Seating limited to 2 persons per table
    • Chill Out room on ground floor: A maximum of 8 students
    • Library, computer study area, printing area will have limited seats due to social distancing measures

  • Timetabling will be staggered to allow sufficient time for safe entrance and exit from classrooms.
  • Classes will be held maximum two days per week.
  • Students must arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled classes to allow for staggered entry and exit and temperature testing while maintaining social distancing at all times.
  • Students must use the biometric facial recognition for their attendance.
  • Faculty will be offered face shields and face masks for their protection and it is mandatory to wear the face mask.
  • The classroom will have assigned seating with student names and numbered seating plans.
  • The Simulation Lab will be utilised as the social distancing classroom with a seating capacity of 50 students.
  • The seating capacity of Lecture Classroom 5 (LC 5) with social distancing is 38 students.

  • Students should wear the face mask all the time while in class
  • The classroom main door will be kept open to avoid contact points
  • Touch-free hand sanitiser will be placed at the reception. Students are encouraged to sanitise their hands.
  • Students should use the biometric facial recognition for their attendance
  • Faculty are required to use a face shield when conducting a lecture/session
  • Faculty will be issued a personal pouch with a face shield, four different colour markers and a pen/pencil for their individual use
  • Faculty need to use disposable gloves which will be available for use in the classroom
  • Each lapel/mike will have a foam-type cover as it is exposed to different users
  • All student interactions with faculty will be carried out only electronically

Reporting Sick

 

Any staff, faculty, visitor or student who feels unwell while on campus must:

  • Report to the Student Life Office and the First Aid Room or an SP Jain team member.
  • If they feel they are running a high temperature or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, they must isolate themselves by exiting the room/building and email the Safety Officer (Bill Kospetas: bill.kospeta@spjain.edu.au) and the Head of Campus (Peter Helson: peter.helson@spjain.edu.au).
  • They should contact the local medical centre or Concord Hospital.
