CLASSES RESUME AT DUBAI CAMPUS


We have resumed face-to-face classes at our Dubai campus for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students of the October 2020 Intake and 2019 Intake, and for the Master of Global Business (MGB) and Global MBA (GMBA) students of the October 2020 Intake.

  • All individuals travelling to Dubai, including UAE citizens and residents, must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate. The test must be taken a maximum of 96 hours before departure.
  • All travellers to Dubai must complete this health declaration form and give it to the airline staff at check-in.
  • You will also need to complete this quarantine undertaking form and submit it to the Dubai Health Authority staff on arrival.
  • You must also declare at check-in that you have health insurance or you will bear the cost for treatment and isolation if required.

  • When you arrive in Dubai, you will undergo a COVID-19 PCR test at the airport, and you are required to remain in your residence/housing until you receive the test result.

  • When you arrive in Dubai, you will undergo a COVID-19 PCR test at the airport, and you are required to remain in your residence/housing until you receive the test result.
  • If the test result is positive, you will be required to undergo isolation and follow the Dubai Health Authority guidelines. You must also download the COVID-19 – DXB Smart App (iOS, Android).

  • You must stay in your residence/housing for at least 24 hours until the airport PCR test results come out.
  • If you test positive for COVID-19, you need to abide by the 14-day quarantine protocol and isolate yourself in a separate room/location.
  • Strict compliance is mandatory with the procedures set out for positive cases by the COVID-19 Command and Control Centre, including institutional quarantine, home quarantine or hospitalisation.
  • You must comply with all the precautionary measures (wearing face masks, maintaining 2-metre social distance and washing hands regularly).

 

ON-CAMPUS GUIDELINES

  • Students and staff, including local residents and citizens, must produce a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate before attending campus.
  • Students, staff, vendors, contractors and visitors need to follow the UAE Government’s safety guidelines whenever they enter and exit from the campus.
  • Checking of body temperature with the use of an infrared thermometer is mandatory at the Basement Entry and Reception Area whenever individuals enter and exit.
  • All students on entering the campus must proceed to the Reception Area where their body temperature will be checked with a thermal scanner before they attend their class. This is mandatory and strict compliance is required.
  • Wearing a face mask at all times is mandatory. It may be removed only while eating or drinking.

  • Maintain at least a 2-metre distance from each other.
  • High-traffic areas in the campus are demarcated clearly with visual indicators. Floor marking stickers have also been used to reinforce social distancing measures.
  • Posters and signage boards with social distancing and hygiene measures have been placed in different areas in the campus as reminders.
  • Restrictions apply to the number of persons who can use common areas/recreational facilities at the same time:
    • Lift: A maximum of 2 persons
    • Reception area: A maximum of 3 persons
    • Library: A maximum of 6 persons
    • Students who wish to play indoor table tennis, outdoor basketball, badminton and football should notify the Receptionist so that the number of players gets regulated
  • Events or activities requiring more than 5 people are not permitted.
  • No gathering is permitted even while queuing for Food Court, Social Costa Café and the Accounts & Admin counters.
  • Only contact-less payment options will be available at the campus.

  • Touch-free hand sanitisers will be placed in high-traffic areas in the campus and all staff and students should sanitise their hands from time to time.
  • Frequent hand-washing is strongly encouraged.
  • Surfaces potentially contaminated with the virus will be sanitised. The disinfectant will be sprayed across the campus regularly.

Classroom Seating Arrangement

Every classroom is arranged to adhere to the social distancing measures. Program Coordinators will plan for staggered class timings for different classrooms and organise the seating number arrangement of students for them to sit at their respective seat numbers.

  • Students and staff are strongly encouraged to report to the Reception or any SP Jain staff if they feel unwell, especially if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. If they can travel on their own, they should take a cab and visit the nearest clinic or hospital that has swab testing capability.
  • Students and staff who fall ill and show respiratory symptoms will be placed in designated isolation rooms. These rooms are located on the ground floor and second floor (Rooms 18 and 32A).
  • If there is a suspected and/or affected case of COVID-19 on campus, one of the staff members should wear a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suit and other protective equipment to assist the medical personnel for the extraction of the affected person from the isolation room to the ambulance.

HOSTEL GUIDELINES

  • Frequent hand-washing is strongly encouraged.
  • Hygiene measures and step-wise hand-washing signage will be placed in common areas.
  • The apartments are self-contained and equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, induction cooktop, kettle, toaster, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Students can use the facilities provided while following all the safety measures.
  • The number of players is regulated in common recreation rooms based on the social distancing measures.
  • Common study rooms are arranged keeping in mind the social distancing measures and the seats that cannot be used are demarcated.
  • Occupants from different floors should not inter-mix.
  • Common areas, communal facilities and shared services will be cleaned and regularly disinfected.
  • Wearing a face mask at all times is mandatory. It may be removed only while eating or drinking.
  • Maintain at least a 2-metre distance from each other.
  • In compliance with social distancing, a maximum of 2 occupants will be accommodated in a studio room and a maximum of 3 occupants in a 1-bedroom apartment.
  • Touch-free hand sanitisers will be placed in various locations within the hostel premises.
  • Frequent hand-washing is strongly encouraged.
  • Hygiene measures and step-wise hand-washing signage will be placed in common areas.
  • The apartments are self-contained and equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, induction cooktop, kettle, toaster, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Students can use the facilities provided while following all the safety measures.

Reporting Sick

 
  • Students are strongly encouraged to inform the Hostel Manager, the hostel reception or any SP Jain staff immediately should they feel unwell, especially if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • They must go to Aster Clinic (04 4400500) immediately as it has swab testing capability. They may also visit Rashid Hospital (04 2192000).
  • Dubai campus will follow the guidelines set by the Government of UAE on managing a suspected case in the accommodation.

PUNITIVE MEASURES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE OF SAFETY MEASURES

The management will impose penalty and fines for those students who do not comply with the safety measures. First-time offenders will be fined:
